If you’re an emotional eater then you’re looking for any edge you can to lose weight.
Can You Lose Weight Drinking Apple Cider Vinegar?
No, not really.
The theory is that a person would drink 2-3 tablespoons of the stuff every night before their meal. It’s supposed to change your metabolism somehow and also affect your blood sugar levels so that your insulin spike is lower.
Lowering your insulin levels is the right path to take when trying to lose weight but apple cider vinegar doesn’t do that. It would be nice if it did.
People used to believe the same thing about cinnamon. That it also helped to regulate blood sugar and was really good for diabetics for this reason. So you had thousands of people with diabetes eating high carb foods like cereals and adding a few teaspoons of cinnamon to them to “make them healthy.”
Again, doesn’t really do anything.
Most foods don’t have any special weight loss powers and are generally a distraction to the authentic and healthy ways of losing weight.
Again the mechanism is all about lowering your insulin levels in your body and you do that by:
1- Changing what you eat. I don’t mean eating healthier in the way we usually think about eating healthy, I mean changing up your diet so that you are eating less carbs and sugars and more fats and proteins. Or just eating better quality carbs.
2- Changing how much you eat. Calorie counting on it’s own doesn’t work but reducing your food intake can be an overall part of the equation. You can do this without it being such a grind by eating less on some days or meals, and more on others. It’s not supposed to be a sit and starve for 6 months plan.
3- Changing when you eat. Here we’re talking about intermittent fasting and time restricted feeding. Changing up your meal times makes a big difference to how your body regulates your insulin which is again the key to losing weight.
Doing one of these 3 approaches will help, 2 will guarantee weight loss and 3 would make you a person nobody wants to be around. Take your diet seriously but also live a little.
