We eat to soothe our stress or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eatinglove.org\/blog\/boredom-eating\/\"><strong>boredom<\/strong><\/a> and not because it makes us feel better. <\/p>\n<p>Eating a chocolate cake tastes awesome and feels better in the moment but all it does is distract us from the underlying stress that is already there. <\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;d have to eat and eat and eat and the stress would just laugh, asking us if we were &#8220;serious?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m still going to be here when you get to the guilt and shame stage! Take your time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But what else can we do?
